San Carlo Acutis

Introduction to the Saint

A boy saint who lived with us in the 2000s
San Carlo Acutis

A short but perfect 15 years,
The Journey of Virtue by San Charles Acutis

Carlo was born in London, England, in 1991. Shortly after his birth, he and his family moved to Milan, Italy, where he grew up. At age seven, after receiving his First Communion, Carlo attended Mass daily, prayed the rosary regularly, saved his allowance to help the homeless, and protected friends who were bullied, living out holiness in his everyday actions.
Carlo was skilled with computers and interested in the internet and video games, much like his peers. He was passionate about using digital technology for evangelization, especially creating the website documenting Eucharistic miracles (www.miracolieucaristici.org), which inspired many people as he had hoped.
Carlo always said true happiness is found by putting God first and serving Him in one’s neighbors, and he embodied this bravely in his actions. Diagnosed with leukemia, Carlo passed away at age fifteen in 2006, but his pure, confident faith became a model for young people everywhere. True to his humble spirit, he was buried in Assisi—wearing the sneakers, hoodie, and jeans in which he lived—near Saint Francis, whom he admired greatly.
The Catholic Church officially recognized two miracles associated with Carlo’s intercession and canonized him on September 7, 2025. This remarkable boy saint is now the second patron of Catholic Peace Broadcasting Corporation (CPBC) and the Catholic Peace Newspaper in Korea.
