Saint Carlo Acutis

Miracles by Intercession

For one to be canonized as a saint,
two healing miracles must be proven through intercessory prayer

A miracle is a complete, immediate, and lasting healing that cannot be explained by science.
For this reason, while beatification and canonization processes often take decades, or even centuries, in the case of Saint Carlo Acutis, the entire process was completed in just 19 years after his death.

  • First miracle
    Healing of Matheus, Brazil (2013)
In 2013, at a church in Campo Grande, Brazil, a Mass and intercessory prayer service for the beatification of Carlo Acutis were held along with his relics. At that time, Matheus, a four-year-old boy, was depended entirely on liquid nutrition due to a congenital pancreatic defect. Doctors had diagnosed that long-term survival was unlikely. "I hope I stop vomiting now," Matheus prayed fervently during the intercessory prayers at the church with his mother. On the way home, Matheus told his mother that he was already healed, and that evening, he was able to eat solid food for the first time in his life. Later, doctors declared him fully cured. • Second miracle
    Recovery of Valeria, Italy (2022)
In July 2022, Valeria, an 11-year-old girl from Costa Rica living in Florence, Italy, suffered a severe skull injury in a bicycle accident and underwent emergency brain surgery. The prognosis was very poor, with low chances of survival. Her mother immediately traveled to Assisi and prayed fervently at the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis, where his mortal remains are preserved. Remarkably, that very night, Valeria began to breathe on her own and regained her speech abilities. She was discharged from the intensive care unit within 10 days and, a month later, was released from the hospital with no signs of brain hemorrhage remaining.
In preparation for the World Youth Day Seoul 2027,
the relics of Saint Carlo Acutis were distributed to 16 dioceses,
including the Archdiocese of Seoul.

The faithful can offer intercessory prayers with various intentions
at the relics enshrined in each diocese and before the statue erected
by catholic peace broadcasting corporation (cpbc).
